We Felt Men's Watches Were Too Expensive, So We Changed That.

A little arm candy shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg. That’s why we created MVMT. Born of the simple yet revolutionary idea that style and making rent shouldn’t be mutually exclusive, we set out to design good-looking, high-quality watches that a couple of college kids on a shoestring budget could actually afford.

The truth is, there’s absolutely no justifiable reason that purchasing a well-crafted watch should leave you on a steady diet of microwavable ramen. Our founders, Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante, are real watch enthusiasts, hungry entrepreneurs, and proud college dropouts. In 2013, at just 22, they were tired of big brand markups. So they built a business that would disrupt the market.


By cutting out the middleman and selling direct-to-consumer, we're able to eliminate wholesale fees, ditch inflated retail markups, and skip the ball-and-chain overhead of brick and mortar that customers end up paying for.

It’s this way of thinking — a grassroots, people-first mentality — that first put MVMT on the map. In 2013, through overwhelming fan support, we became the second highest crowd-funded fashion brand of the year. Since that day, we’ve amassed a loyal social following of more than 3.3 million devotees who align themselves with our minimalist sensibility and underdog story. By staying nimble, community-oriented, and independent from the demands of investors, we can proudly offer modern timepieces at reasonable prices. It’s for all of these reasons that we stand out from the old regime, synonymous with luxury exclusivity, and resonate with the forward-thinking millennial consumer.
